1. The water bottle may be hand-washed or placed in a dishwasher.
2. The food container's retention clips are easily unfastened so that the lid and the base may be washed separately. Since temperatures vary among dishwashers, for product longevity, it is recommended that the lid and its 5 silicone bands (removed from the lid) be hand-washed, while the base may be placed on a dishwasher's top rack, with the temperature at the lowest setting.
After removing and washing the bands, it is important to ensure that all 5 bands are "tucked completely back into" their respective channels. Since the band for the water bottle compartment and the one for the largest ("sandwich") compartment are almost the same sizes, this simple procedure will help to determine the larger band (for the sandwich compartment): Holding up and positioning both bands side by side, pinch both at the same point with the thumb and index finger - the band that hangs slightly lower is the larger one.
The fabric carrier and food container should be stored separately and in “open” positions, to ensure proper ventilation.
